Weekend volunteer tree planting at Talla
26.02.2026Due to the very wet weather and high wind speeds we planted close to the barn at Talla today.
Andy collected leftover plug plants from previous planting sessions so we had something of a pick and mix of plants as well as a bundle of Hawthorn each.
I planted my Hawthorn into the side of a ridge by the burn (55.463610, -3.345964). and then infilled some willow/ birch planting on the plateau (55.46392, -3.346123).
Across the plateau there were elements of peat bog so every effort was made to avoid planting in these sections because of the negative environmental impact of planting in peatbogs.
