There was a 45 min walk in from the Devil's beeftub carpark. The walk was along the ridge to Whitehope heights via the source of the Anan. A fine day out planting, great views over the moffat dale. There is no other planting on this site yet and the molinia grass was very thick so large screefing areas were required leading to relatively slow planting speeds. I tend to plant in batches to speed things up, i.e. screef 3 nearby holes and create the planting hole as phase 1, then in phase 2 drop the plugs and add the cane (we were not using vole guards at this site).
